If you arriving in Nottingham by train, the train station is located about 10 or 15 minutes walk away from Midtown Hostel.
Out of the main entrance turn right onto Carrington Street. You will then reach Broadmarsh Bus Station. Turn right onto Canal Street, and carry on walking past the Nottingham Crown Court, until you get to a set of traffic lights, just before the tram bridge. Cross the left side of the road, and walk up the hill, following the tram lines. Keep walking up Middle Hill past Nottingham Contemporary and past Tesco Express. Cross the road, up to a bar called Cape, which is on the corner. Go past Cape, towards Element, and turn a sharp left onto Carlton Street. Shortly, you will see a pub called Thurland Hall, which will be on your right. Take the right turning onto Thurland Street, and we are located about half way down the street, right next to a restaurant called Yamas.
If you get lost, do not hesitate to call us at 0115 941 0150.
If you are coming to Nottingham by car, it will be difficult to make your way around Nottingham City Center due to the one way system, therefore we advise against it.
There is the option of Park & Ride, where you park your car at a tram stop (it's free), and catch the tram. Possible Park & Ride locations are Hucknall, Wilkinson Street or The Forest. After parking you would need to catch a tram headed to Station Street, and get off the stop called Old Market Square. From Market Square, walk to the left side of the Council House, up Long Row (there is a Primark there), and then up Smithy Row, and turn left at Pelham Street near Bravissimo, onto Pelham Street. We are located next to Yamas.
Another option is parking your car at a nearby car park. We would recommend 20 Fletcher Gate, Nottingham, NG1 2FZ. Overnight parking pricing is £4.00 all night from 5pm until 9 am. To get there, just have a look on www.maps.google.co.uk, and you will get a route from your current location to the car park. From there, you would need to walk up Fletcher Gate, past Tesco, up to a bar called Cape, which is on the corner. Go past Cape, towards Element, and turn a sharp left onto Carlton Street. Shortly, you will see a pub called Thurland Hall, which will be on your right. Take the right turning onto Thurland Street, and we are located about half way down the street, right next to a restaurant called Yamas.
If you are arriving at East Midlands Airport, there is a direct bus you can get, which takes you from the Airport to Nottingham City Center. The bus is called Skylink. You can find the Skylink bus time table & all the information here.
The Skylink bus runs 24 hours of the day, and it takes around 45 minutes. When you arrive in Nottingham, the bus will stop on Friar Lane. Uppon arrival, you will need to walk down the street towards Old Market Square. Walk straight towards the large building in the square - The Council House (it is historic & has two stone lions on either side). You will need to go towards the left lion, and take the left side walk which is Long Row. That street has a large shop called Primark.
You will need to walk straight on Smithy Row, past the crossroads, and a shop called Zara will be on your right. Head straight up Pelham Street until you reach a road going left. There is a shop on the corner called Bravissimo. Take this turning left, on to Thurland Street.
Midtown Hostel is located half way down the street, right next to a restaraunt called Yamas. We are a bright blue door, right next to Yamas. If you would like a visual view, just click here for a link to google maps.
